PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS: Searching for a Permanent Singer & New Music in 2026? (2026)

Get ready for a rockin' update from Phil Campbell, the legendary guitarist who once ruled the stage with MOTÖRHEAD! But here's the twist: his band, PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS, is still on the hunt for a permanent lead singer.

In a recent chat with Strefa Music Art, Phil revealed that the band has been hard at work, with about eight to ten song ideas in the pipeline. These tracks are already in the early stages of recording, and the band plans to hit the studio in January and February to bring their new music to life.

"We've been super busy this year, and it just keeps getting busier! But we're taking a little break after this tour, and then it's time to get serious in the studio," Phil shared.

The band's current singer, Joel Peters, has moved on, and they've found a temporary replacement in Julian Jenkins, a talented musician and friend who fronts the band FURY. While Julian is helping out for now, Phil hinted at a more permanent solution down the line.

PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS have an interesting origin story. Initially formed as a side project by Phil during his time with MOTÖRHEAD, the band took on a new identity in 2016, revealing their unique name at Wacken Open Air. With Phil's sons, Todd, Tyla, and Dane, joining forces, they brought a fresh energy to the rock scene.

Their debut album, "The Age of Absurdity," released in 2018, was a critical success, winning awards and gaining widespread acclaim. The follow-up, "We're the Bastards," recorded during the lockdown, was an even bigger hit, charting in four countries.

Phil's journey with MOTÖRHEAD spanned from 1984 to 2015, and he was the band's sole guitarist for the last two decades, appearing on iconic albums like "Orgasmatron" and "Bastards." The band's end came with the tragic passing of Lemmy in 2015.

Phil's solo career also shines bright. In 2019, he released his first solo record, "Old Lions Still Roar," featuring guest appearances from rock legends like Rob Halford and Dee Snider.

So, rock fans, what do you think? Will PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS find their perfect frontman? And how will their new music evolve? Share your thoughts in the comments!
